Who we are
Seeing the person behind the need.
Crowned in Glory Street Ministries Association is a faith-based street outreach ministry committed to “Unshackling Hearts One Encounter at a Time.”
We believe every person is created in the image of God, deeply loved by Him, and worthy of dignity, compassion, and genuine human connection—regardless of their circumstances or where they are in their journey.
Our ministry reaches into communities throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality and beyond, particularly serving people experiencing homelessness, poverty, addiction, hardship, trauma, loneliness, and hopelessness.
We provide practical support while creating space for prayer, worship, Bible studies, mini church services, encouragement, fellowship, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our heart is to build relationships, restore dignity, speak hope, and create opportunities for people to encounter the love of God.

About the founder
A testimony turned into a mission.
Brandy Upshaw is a woman of faith, mother, author, and passionate servant of Jesus Christ with a deep burden for people who are hurting, forgotten, and living in bondage.
Her passion for street ministry grew out of her own journey through trauma, addiction, homelessness, brokenness, and hopelessness. After encountering Jesus in a profound way, her life began a journey of surrender, discipleship and transformation.
Today, Brandy leads outreach that combines practical support with spiritual care. She believes ministry begins with relationship—not simply giving someone a meal and walking away, but helping people know they are seen, valued and loved.

What once felt like a story of brokenness became a testimony of dope to hope, trauma to healing, ashes to beauty, and death to life. Her testimony is also the foundation of her book The Unshackled Heart: Touched by Grace, where she shares her journey from bondage to freedom and the transforming power of God’s grace.

We are looking for compassionate, dependable people who desire to serve others, meet practical needs, build relationships, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our outreach may involve people experiencing homelessness, addiction, mental-health challenges, crisis or other difficult circumstances. Volunteers are expected to serve with dignity, compassion and without judgment.
